Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

The Renewable Heat Incentive is a government scheme, the purpose of which is to promote the use of renewable heat.

The scheme offers participants a money back incentive, for installing sustainable energy sources in their homes, the aim of the scheme is to help the UK to reduce it’s carbon footprint and help build a sustainable world for the future.

Anyone who meets the requirements, can apply, this includes households both on and off the gas grid. Under the scheme participants are currently eligible for up to £11,000 money back over a period of 7 years, however, the scheme is due to end in March 2022.

Once the RHI scheme ends, this is due to be replaced by a new scheme, called the ‘Clean Heat Grant’, offering a maximum of £4,000 of Government contributions.

More information can be found on the current RHI scheme on the GOV UK website or the Ofgem website.
